Who We Are

Tynecia Estrada

Founder/ President

Tynecia Estrada is a woman of faith with career roots in the healthcare field. She has a degree in Teaching-Special Education from Miami Dade College. She is also a Certified Support Group Facilitator. She has a heart for helping those who are forgotten. That’s why in 2021 Tynecia took a leap of faith to begin the Girls Breaking Chains nonprofit organization.

Inspired by a traumatic childhood with an imprisoned parent, Tynecia reached a breaking point in her struggles. By her faith in Jesus Christ, she released her pain and wrote up a plan for a nonprofit that would bring other at-risk girls healing, and Girls Breaking Chains was born.

Tynecia is also on the move as the owner of Leap of Faith Logistics, LLC, a company that provides administrative support and professional dispatch services to Owner-Operators. This South Georgia native is also a DIY enthusiast, thrift store hunter, and foodie. Tynecia enjoys spending time with her family, her husband John of 16 years, and her two daughters Chlo’e and Harmony. Tynecia also enjoys traveling, listening to music, and enjoying a girl’s night out with her friends.

This brown skinned girl from Cordele, Georgia used to have a quick temper and a mean right hook. The phone in my grandmother’s house rang every week with news of detention, suspension, and eventual expulsion for little Miss Tynecia.

Flashbacks of my father in handcuffs and the day a judge imposed a death sentence on his life were on replay in my young mind constantly. I struggled with feelings of guilt and shame, and the pain of loss and unworthiness. My mother’s mental illness also took a toll that was too much for me to carry alone.

That’s when father’s family’s village and a praying grandmother embraced me and set my life in a new direction. My journey to breaking chains and healing began when I was given the opportunity to connect, engage, and grow.

I spent my summers connecting with my cousins and making new friends. I also joined my school’s basketball, track, and cross-country teams, as they provided a healthy and competitive outlet to escape from my emotions and help me to dream bigger. My coach also knew my circumstances and continued to push me to be better.

I knew I had to begin this nonprofit, Girls Breaking Chains after that dreadful day of my father’s upcoming execution date arrived. God took me through a process of healing. Therapy and my faith in God strengthened and empowered me to share my testimony. Most importantly, God began to give me confirmation that there were others who would overcome because of my testimony.

When I was a child, I would ask God, why did He choose me to be in such a messed-up family, but I knew there was a purpose attached to my pain. I believe the same for you. God has a purpose and a plan for our lives, and you must know there is greatness inside of you. Together, let’s break these chains and walk towards the life God has in store for us.

What makes us different?

Our support group program is certified by Rainbows For Children, another charitable organization. With their support curriculum, all girls heal in a safe environment with peers who can relate and empower each other to make healthy, parallel progress. It aims to create and maintain the ideal safe, loving community by connecting such girls.

Share your time and
love for community.
